Whixall Online Companion Dog Show 2025

Due to heavy personal commitments this year, the organisers of the annual Whixall Dog Show, normally held at the Whixall Social Centre, decided to organise the Dog Show ONLINE. The Judge for this innovative dog show concept was Chris Amoo, the lead singer of The Real Thing and a past Crufts "Best in Show" winner.

A full range of Pedigree and Novelty classes where on offer - the only difference to a "live dog show" was that competitors submitted photographs of their dogs into their selected classes online. Chris Amoo was sent all the submitted photographs, class by class, and then he had the enjoyable task of "judging" each class at his leisure. Entries placed 1st-5th in each class received a printable certificate.

All first placed winners in the Pedigree and Novelty Classes chosen by Chris then went head to head for the Best Pedigree Best in Show and the Best Novelty in Show. Best in Show winners were presented with impressive rosettes sponsored by the Whixall Social Centre Committee

An incredible 103 photograph entries were received - so Chris had his work cut out!

Best Pedigree in Show went to Zoe with Lily from the AV Utility and Hound Class. Zoe and Lily hail from Scotland!

Best Novelty in Show went to Andrew with Elsa from Prettiest Bitch Class. Andrew and Elsa are local Whixall residents.

Well done to them and all winners in each class and all those who entered our Online Dog Show. Truly a nationwide event!!!!

A Word from the Judge - Chris Amoo

"What a joy it was to judge this show! I found it so relaxing, whilst sitting in a tent on a very sunny day, soaking up the vibes before heading on stage to perform at a festival!

The novelty classes were exactly what they should be: full of fun and charm. From cute pups giving me those irresistible puppy-dog eyes to action shots that made me grin - it was a treat from start to finish.

Huge Congratulations to all the winners! The two top dogs were fantastic examples of their breeds and categories - truly top-tier!

Thanks so much for having me as your Judge-I had a blast and really hope you raised loads for a great cause!."

In fact Chris the event raised and amazing £300.00, which will go towards the upkeep and maintenance of the Social Centre.

Committee Member and Show Organiser, Elaine Turnbull and Friend of Whixall and Show Organiser, Alice Turnbull met up with Chris Amoo at Blackpool Championship Dog Show and presented him with a tasty gift pack of local Shropshire Cheeses, Honey, biscuits and other local goodies as a thanks for his participation in our Online Dog Show.
